Murph's Models T-39 Sabreliner
I have had this model printed for at least two years. I wanted to make sure that I'd have time to get it done and do it right. Well, the Covid-19 sequestering has given me that time. This plane is very special to me, in that it is THE T-39 that is at my local museum, the Sac Aerospace Museum in Ashland, NE. A few years back, Murph was a truck driver and came through town. We made a stop at the museum and he got material to design many of the aircraft. His Boeing KC-97 is also THE plane at the museum. I have taken many of his designs and modified them to match other museum planes.
The model fits together superbly well. I managed to completely muck up the wing fillets by not pre-shaping them enough. oops. I still like it though. |

Great looking bird. I especially like the clean build of the nose. The lights really stand out. Nice build!

You should bring it by the museum, bet they would like to see it. If you do, take some photos of the model with the real airplane and post them here, please.
I got a bunch of photos of the T-39 from the USAF museum in Dayton, and been meaning to make a repaint for Murph. I used to fly in these to make recruiting trips for the Air Force Academy, since we could not transport live falcons in commercial airlines at the time. |

I might be able to get some pics with the real plane since it's outside. The museum, like many other places, has now closed until the end of April. I do fully intend to take it out thee so that a few folks that I used to work with there can see it.

Really nice build. The skills have not atrophied at all.
Built the Eastern version of this, no issues either. Niki |
