Blackburn Buccaneer 1:48 vs F-4B Phantom 1:48

As I am close to finish the Buccaneer I wanted to pose it next to the Phantom. Both served in the late 60's on the Royal British navy carriers . The Buccaneer served with the F-4K British Phantoms on Ark Royal and Hermes carriers. Both could carry
lots of weapons but the Buccaneer had a bomb bay which the Phantom lacked so despite engines with after burners the Buccaneer could take loads and penetrates low level targets even better than the Phantom . The only drawback of the Buccaneer was that behond 25 k feet it was responding lasy to controls movements as it was designed from the out set for the low level attack mission. In next chapters I will elaborate more about the two.

Buccaneer has an interesting story and an interesting appearance; it is a unique airplane.

rifleman - thanks i really did some effort to upgrade the look of this unique NAVAL fighter !

Southwestforests - the Buccaneer is a special bird as it was in service more than 30 years and was doing airshows in South Africa until some years ago.

The Buck looks to be a very difficult subject but you've done a great job so far, like the other airframes you have made. Nicely done mate.

Dear Mike Herky and Don - thanks for your reply's.
When I started to build this model I saw the potential in it and started to upgrade it to a more realistic model with added parts.

Blackburn Buccaneer 1:48 build diary

The buccaneer is almost done but before putting the canopy I wanted to review the upgrade.
The pilot and navigator compartments were completed
With ejection seats and instruments panels sticks Hud and persfex isolating plate between two cockpits.
A refueling probe added PItot tube from below left wing cooling vent in the tail arresting hook two antenas on dorsal spine and lamp. The canopy is ready to mount on.
