Is this second edition of Skyhawk by Fly model? First one had some fit issues I heard.

I see you also mark arrows pointing forward on parts.I also mark number of section if they are similar to each other.

Dear Butelczynski - this is fly model 38 so I dont know about second edition. The fuselage was not easy to construct and for some reason the number of disks was 3 times of what was needed.
Also the parts fit was below average. But as for me the fuselage is acceptable. If the fuse lage is OK the rest of the build should not pose a problem.

Dear Sergio - the Skyhawk was one of the most important IAF fighters.Skyhawk service was between 1967 -2016 of 49 Years !
It prticipated in various strikes in the Attrition war , Yom Kippur war
and many more strikes in between.
Not long ago I saw a movie of falkland Islands and so the small Argentine Skyhaws attack the British task force with fused bombs and the small planes piloted by the brave pilots creating mess in the British task force ships.

Is this a re-scale or is the model itself issued in 1:48? Looking forward to more progress. The intakes will be very interesting to make.

Dear Lex - I build all my models in 1:48 scale for comparition reasons as I compare between the models. The Original model was 1:33 so re scall it to 69% bring it to 1:48 in print. You right regarding the air intakes and hump as these are the most complicated parts here.

A-4 Skyhawk build diary continued

The cockpit was glued to the fuselage along with some other parts. next the dust cover and instrument panel. the ejection seat remains for the end before the canopy is mounted for adjustment reasons.

Hi Yair, interesting aircraft, and downsizing from 1:33 to 1:48 shouldn't give much problems with respect to building the smaller details (if any). I'll be following this one.

Regards,
Erik

A-4 Skyhawk build diary contiued

Erik you right about downsizing - if there are gaps in 1:33 they will be smaller in 1:48. Other than that the model is OK so far but not precise like the Banshee of Murfh's models that I a am building now as well.
The cockpit compartment was mounted to the fuselage and instrument panel with upper dust cover. The ejection seat will be mounted at the end before the canopy mounting to avoid small imperfections in placing. next step is the air intakes and hump which are the biggest obstacle here.
