I'll say that usually newer planes are more electronically flexible, or digitally integrated. Usually, more fuel efficient. But sometimes is better and cheaper to improve the older model, including all the new equipment and even changing the engines.
Venezuela studied to buy Pucara, but ended enhancing the Broncos https://www.fav-club.com/2018/05/19/...ra-venezolano/
