Dear Falco - I found that Murph's
models are a good base for upgrades as I add cockpits with transparent canopy and other small details that improve the model look. Yair |

F-86D Sabre dog 1:48 build diary
The next step was to install the
cockpit compartment in order to allow the assembly of the front fuselage section. Now the lower skirt is ready to be inserted below and this will require some changes to the disk shape in order to get a good fitment !!! Yair |

F-86D Sabre dog 1:48 - Build diary
The most difficult step was completed - the merging of the lower body part with the upper and I am fine with the result .
Some photos that shows the gradual steps of merging the two parts. Next wing frames. Yair |

Hi Don - my two cents advices here. First try to shape the lower part with roung obgect to make it round as possible at both sides.
See how the chin disk fits the fuselage shape and make a little belly that it will fits better. Also cut the two upper ends of the disk inwards and shorten both the same. Now place the disk and glow it to the lower part. Cut the smaller gaps in the middle of the lower part in both sides so the part will have 4 parts. Start glue with the woman legs and try to be precise and complete the woman side. Check that the woman side is completely glued from the air intake to the US flag. Repeat the operation on the other side that remained not glued and glue as close to the border line on the fuselage. After both sides are well sitting and glue is dry form exactly the intake shape close to the real thing. Yair |
