Hi Brent - thanks !
There are many nice models that come without a clear canopy or cockpit. Almost all my models comes with a clear canopy and full cockpit and the reason for that is that when you compare them to plastic models at the same 1:48 scale they compare well. i will elaborate more on how to build clear canopies in one of my next treads. Shalom thanks !
I really like the 50's colorful liveries as opposed to the dull ones that new fighters have with all the stilt issue in mind . Yair |

F-86D Sabre dog 1:48 vs F-86D Sabre do WHM 1:48
IAF magazine had an agreement with WHM models to release the models with different liveries.
The sabre dog was released with Etiupean airforce livery instead of the original German. The Murph's nodel is much better in terms of color scheme and close much more to the real thing. Yair |

F-86D Sabre dog 1:48 vs F-86F Sabre 1:48
The Sabre dog is really a different
plane in many ways - the nose is totally different with the big radar cone , the body is longer and wider and the horizontal tails are much bigger than the standard Sabre. The engine is with afterburner that give it higher speed of 50kph at low level or mach 0.95 contre mach 0.89 and rate of climb of 12000 fpm contre 9000 feet per min of the F type Sabre. I put them both side by side to see the big difference between them. Yair |

Sabre family vs Mystere family
It is sound strange but in France at the 1950's a small firm named Dassault raised a full line of fighters that were very well compared with the best North American company could offer - although with a two years after delay in bringing into operational service. The Sabre from early models was comparable to the Mystere II while the Sabre dog was was comparable to the Mystere IVa. In some cases the French planes were more than an even match as I will deal with this topic later.
I pose here the Sabre F-86E and F-86D vs Mystere II and IV all in scale of 1:48. Yair |
