Nice work on the wheels Olo. Something I must confess when following your build: I have this model on my stack for already 5 years but have always hesitated to start with it as I think it will take me ages to complete, afraid to loose focus after some time... but seeing your progress and craftsmanship, it really gets very tempting.
Keep up the fine work, you're almost there. Regards, Erik |

Hi Eric, it is very great project although I wasn't aware how difficult it is. I got to say the the geometry of the plain is not easy for people like me If I knew I would have waited to get more experience, but since I started I am keep working on it...Thanks for warm words ..Cheers

Last big step in my build completed. 320 holes, several ribs, hydraulic system all tiny pieces, spent some time but came out nicely ....

Hi Tom/Olo, beautiful work on the flaps/brakes. 320 holes..... Your Dauntless looks splendid. I notice the surface is a bit shiny, did you spray the model with satin (semi matt/gloss) varnish?
I usually spray the sheets with a very light varnish coat before starting to cut, to protect the print of the paper and it also prevents marker ink (for edge coloring) to spread. The varnish blocks the paper pores so for gluing purpose the first coat shouldn't be too thick. Excellent work! Erik |
