Thanks, YB. The slots in the wing ribs are also too wide for the spar...maybe that's to allow for some wonki-ness? In any event, the top wing went together well and even the wing tips folded down nicely with their cuts. I also finished the bottom wing and installed them to the fuselage without any drama.

I'll work on the N-struts and then start adding the top wing!

Thanks, RM and Gene. I really liked making the prop and it wasn't hard at all.

I got my cabanes installed! Believe it or not, they are gently sanded and sort of stream lined pieces of pasta primed and painted yellow. I've used pasta types on many of my flying models on, for example, exhausts. Elbow macaroni is great stuff! I've never had a problem with them going "al dente" and I trust the same will be true for my D-VII. They are just about the perfect dimension and ready made (almost)! All the strength and load are on those N-struts with the internal wire.

Next I'll add the aileron control cables and then on to the landing gear and wheels.

Stay tuned...Dan

She's close now! Landing gear on, wheels, tail skid, prop...really needs ailerons, some aileron control cables and some little details like foot and hand-holds, windscreen etc.

Dang...looks like a real D-VII now. The color scheme is very fetching, I must say!
