Calling It Done

It certainly has its warts (my lack of skills) but was a fun build.
Definitely learned some new things.
The wing supports, for me, were a little fiddly but got them done. Now I'd be willing to tackle a Fokker E.III with those funky landing gear struts.

I know from looking through many paper model files that struts (landing and wing) are frequently shown as or represented as flat, probably due to the medium(?). I found a couple of period photos showing on this plane the landing and wing struts are tubular in shape.
Also I could just barely see there are little metal loops on either side just before the stabilizer so I added the to the model. I am assuming these were used for picking up the rear of the plane for field turn arounds or positioning.

Lastly, the only period photos I could find of a plane that looks like this (with the rounded, curved engine cowl) were labels as D.VIII not D.VII. The photos I found of D.VII's had the squarish, slightly pointed engine cowl.
I'm not sure which designation is correct

Again a fun build. Too bad it seems this model its not available any longer. I was trying to look it up on ecardmodels (where I bought it some years ago) for the short information describing the plane, and Kampfflieger no longer seems to be listed there. His models are available a couple of other places, but I still could not find this one.
Fiddler's Green has this plane model and it looks very similar parts-wise. I also note they list it as a D.III.
I recommend their page for more information on this aircraft. Fokker DVIII | Aircraft |

Your moidel is definitely a D.VIII. The D.VII was a totally different airframe, most notably being a biplane ... .
