Ok, the coolant radiators are allmost finished, just a check of the bending, some filling and the last touch of all the invasion bands.
About the superchargers, they are advancing, too. They are the next point to do.
By the way, the placement of the coolant radiators in the original paper model is wrong, I had to unglue the first pair and correct it.
I saw that I had placed the national decals on the wrong wing, so I had to use water to remove and place them in the right one. Thanks God by the water resistent paint!
I'm planning to do all the warning decals with a black pen, using the plastic model as a guide.
About the Stranraer, the fuselage struts are almost ready. I'm thinking how I'm going to do the curve where the hull joins the tail of the plane. Once that done, and the internal structures for the tails and elevator are done, I'll consider the first sheet of the plane finised, and start the second one with the fuselage skin.

And... instead of making the superchargers I`m finishing the engines. If I can say that when all the boom is a big engine.
I'll take advantage of a pair of plastic bombs and supports that I have, and I'll include them in the model. As I said, the real plane made some bombing missions.
The left support is different, it had a camera included, maybe to verify that the objetives were hit. I'll have to modify the model, no problem.

Stranraer: finished the S6 strut, marking the trenchs in the ribs. Starting the design of the tails-elevator strut (just for fun I'll made just one strut for them)
So far I have found three liverys for the Stranraer: a full metalic one, a camouflaged one and the one for Pacific Western Airlines. It's very posible that I'll make all of them. At least I guarantee the camouflaged one.

And continuing with the nose of the P-38.
The guns and the cannon were made with electric wire, but are still unpainted. It would have been better to paint them "burn iron" before to glue them, but it's too late. Let's see what happens when finished.
I included the weight inside the nose, Two grams. I estimate the necessary weight by placing a temporary nose (just a stick or tube) and adding ballast while the plane is placed over a ruler. The weight must be enought that, while the ruler is placed where the main weels will go, the nose goes down.
This section of the nose is where the words "Scat II" must go, so it will need a lot of care before assembling. The words will be painted just by the left side, as was usual in WWII planes.

Ending the nose of the P-38 has been easy. Even the "Scat II" art was easy to make.
So, in this pictures you can see the metalic oval inside the engines, used to see the main wheel from the cockpit, enabling the pilot to check if the landing gear is well deployed. We are talking about a plane that has TWO mirrors to see the nose strut, and three lights under the cockpit that allows the mechanic to check the same... I don't know, something smells fishy here?
The last two pictures let you see how I check that the nose balast is enought before instaling the main landing gear. Just a ruler placed were the main struts will go. Remember that I still haven't placed the last layer of paint.
About the Stranraer, the tail reinforcements are made, and just two parts remain to do before ending the first sheet and starting the second one.

Thanks, Sergio!

Testing the landing gear I found that the paper model was way higher than the plastic one. Taking measures, the original paper model is wrong. The nose strut is almost right, but the main landing strut is tooo long. The tail must be nearer of the ground, so near that a tail bump must have been very common landing this plane.
So, a scissor cut to the reinforcement wires and ready. Well, still too long but acceptable.

About the Stranraer, the squeleton is finished and I'm starting to desing the fuselage skin. The first published skin is going to be the full silver one of the 228 squadron, K7287, with the camouflaged one following close.
The squeleton is printed and I'm expecting to finish the assembly test this weekend.

Just a few details to finish the P-38.
For me, assembling a model has the following stages:
1) Let's see how to assemble this without leaving anything out
2) Ok, which parts must I put now?
3) Just a few parts remain!
4) Where the h$·% is this part?
5) Just a touch of paint and ready!
Right now I'm in stage 3, and seems that I'm going to skip stage 4.

Anyway, the landing gear doors are made, the compressor turbines are made, the supercharger air intakes are made, and the pitot (just one under the left wing) is placed. The bomb supports are placed (the left one has a camera, you can see it like a paper rectangle still unpainted) and part of the lettering is placed.
There are two bombs, one antena, two propellers, two decals and some paint and lettering nedded to finish the plane. And there is a very happy modeler!
