Here's an idea - how about using these sheet balsa plans as templates for uncommon aircraft? They're already boxy and should be easy enough to downscale.

Here's a surprise for you - I see you built the Choctaw and Beaver from the TMSC PL-107 Soya. But check the 1:200 Canon PL-107 Soya and you'll find it's the older version with different not so boxy aircraft, an Alouette II and a Cessna 180 floatplane! I noticed that the Alouette II has floats and the wrong 2-blade rotor, but you can substitute the rotor from Bruno's Alouette III and maybe landing skids from his Kiowa or similar.

There's lots of recolor possibilities for both aircraft, I'm planning to do a Cessna in Philippine markings. For the Alouette's open tail framework it might be better to do a black fill like PRModels or R&PModels.

Of course you know about the Hughes 300 included in Olli Bizer's Calypso, right?

The "Alouette II" of PL-107 Soya is actually a Bell 47G, so the 2 blade rotor is correct.

Right as usual Carlos, I should have looked more closely. I thought the bubble was too elongated for a Sioux and the backside threw me off, now when I look at the tail frames it is definitely a Sioux. I also wondered why the turbine engine wasn't shown even with just rolled up paper tubes.

Still, lots of potential recolors!

Yes it was the tail frame and the missing turbine that did it for me. Plus the cabin looked too short for an Alouette II (my brother had a big alouette II toy when we were children) and the Bell 47 was licence-built by Kawasaki so it looked like a more natural choice for a japanese agency.

I looked up the instructions of the Hasegawa kit for confirmation.

Thank you for the welcome addition of the Alphajet and the A 109. Both of them could be subjects of multiple recolors.

Here's what I've been working on this week. I haven't designed the canopy and landing gear yet but I'm liking the first 2 test-builds so far...


These are F-100As with short abd extended wings ang fins. I probably won't keep the shorter horizontal stabs as I'm not sure they actually existed.


The F-100D will require a small fuselage extention in addition to new wings and fin.

Yes I know. And I've just modified the parts for the F-100D which is the version used by France. Still no canopy for now. Maybe tomorrow.
