A-4 A-D Progress

Hello All
First.. VERY nice F-100 Cafe.

Now to show I haven't forgotten my Scooters

I have 3D modeled all needed assemblies
7616 polygons to do it and will take a bit in Pepakura to de-line and unfold.
Here's a screen grab of the raw model
This will include:
Fuselage
Horizontal Tail
Vertical Tails: Slicked A Rudder and Ribbed B- Rudder
Wing
Canopy
Landing Gear and doors: Main and Nose
Tailhook
Droptanks on Pylons: 250 Gal Centerline and 450 Gal Inner Wings
Empty Pylons all stations

Open Leading Edge Slats
Open Flaps/Dive Brakes
Open Air Brakes
Refueling Probes: Straight and Bent

I think that is all for now.

Night all. May everyone have pleasant dreams tonight

Can't wait for the Skyhawk, Stefan!

Meanwhile I've made some progress F-100. Designed 2 canopies, scrapped the first one. Also made the mods for the F-100D and the F-100F.

So far I have 3 full prototypes:
- 1 early F-100A (short fin, short wing)
- 1 later F-100A (extended fin and wings, externally identical to the F-100C). This one bears the stigmata of the first canopy design that I ripped and replaced with the 2nd version.
- 1 F-100D

Next will be the F-100F.

The F-100D has a longer fuselage than the C and modified wings/fin. The F-100F has a further lengthened fuselage to accomodate the second seat.

There are a few little mistakes to correct. Among them, I forgot to lengthen the rectangle between the wings on the F-100D and F-100F. Not a huge issue but it needs ro be fixed since the 2 parts of the center fuselage are attached to it.

I think I'll also test the option I discarded when I started this project: single part central fuselage + separate wings.

Dear Carlos:
If I may, the planes look very nice and not that boxy.
I think you did a great job with the fuselage and the cockpit.

Thank you, wireandpaper. The only rounded part is the exhaust cone.

A little shark of the Red Sea: a French Air Force F-100D from its last assignment, Djibouti.

EC 4/11 Jura was established there in january 1973 and would use the Super Sabre until 1978 when it was succeeded by EC 3/10 Vexin and its Mirage IIIC (the only IIICs ever modified to carry the Matra Magic instead of the AIM-9 Sidewinder).

It might now be a good thing to:
a) design some joining tabs for the fuselage
b) design a simple landing gear
c) maybe design some (flat) ordnance and drop tanks

Now with landing gear and deployed airbrake.

The nose landing gear door opens on the wrong side on the built models but it's now corrected on the template. It's funny because I made the same mistake ages ago on the first test-builds of the F-5A/B/T-38.

MiG-21F-13 update! I've added to the download section two variants of already posted models:

a) the camouflaged syrian Avia S-106/MiG-21F-13, this time with the proper roundels (red/white/black instead of the pre-1958 green/white/black).

b) the iraqi MiG-21F-13 that defected to Israel, this time with fake syrian markings (pre-1958 versions) including fuselage roundels. Israel apparently flew this plane with these fake and obsolete markings. Actual syrian Fishbeds never had roundels on the sides of the fuselage. See the picture at the bottom of this article. I chose to keep the original side number.

They're waiting for mod approval.
