Yes I am, the problem is scarce documentation for the wings. It's a JJ-7 with different wings (which aren't the same as the J-7E/G), a pointy nose, side air intakes and a different windshield.

The Ye-6/2 was the 2nd prototype of the MiG-21F "Fishbed-B". It was later modified as a weapons testbed with double-delta wings and wingtip missiles as part of the MiG-21F-13 "Fishbed C" development program. The improvements in performance weren't enough for the configuration to be applied to the production MiG-21F-13.

I haven't modified the base of the fin. Basically, it's made for a 4-segment fuselage, not one with 3) so there's still a tiny gap between the fin and the fuselage but I can live with it. Adding a line going in the middle of the central section helps with positioning the spine/fin. Cutting with only one change of angle instead of 2 and adding the fin to the fuselage before the wings helps too. The revised nose centerpiece is easier to install but it sticks out a bit too much on this one. I pushed too much. I'll keep it like this though.

What should I build next ? Egyptian F-7B ? Iraqi F-7B (which is clearly an F-7M, not a B) ? Or one of the Bangladeshi ones (F-7MB/F-7BG/F-7BGI) ? Maybe the "Have Doughnut" MiG-21F-13 ? US or Iraqi markings?

The only difference between the two egyptian F-7B apart from the serial is the canopy. Earlier front-hinged canopy with aft windows for the one on the left, making it the same config as the PLAAF J-7I. Definitive rear-hinged canopy with a separate windshield for the one on the right, making it the same config as the PLAAF J-7II. The scheme is a bit speculative as the pictures I have are few. Two guns and only 2 wing hardpoints (not 4) for these.

The Bangladesh Air Force F-7 are an F-7MB as currently flown by sqn 25 "Trendsetters" (serial in 4xx) alongside the L-39 Albatross, an F-7BGI from sqn 35 "ThunderCat" (serials in 7xx) (and I'm once again earwormed with ThunderCats theme song) and two F-7BG of sqn 5 "Defenders" (serials in 9xx), one in the older dark blue camo. If I were to do an earlier F-7MB as flown by sqn 5/35, the scheme and colors would be different (darker grey scheme). At some point the MB gained a chaffs/flare dispenser in the ventral fin (as seen on the BG & BGI) but the pic I have of 426 in these colors shows the original version. The F-7BGI were the last F-7/J-7 ever built. They only have one gun instead of 2 on the MB and BG.

The Iraqi F-7B uses a desert scheme that was also used on an F-7M prototype. My version was done from pictures of said F-7M prototype. It's really an M as it has 4 wing hard points (the outer wing hard points were added on the F-7M and the J-7IIH and later) and an angle of attack vane on the left side of the nose (it appeared on the J-7IIA, disappeared on the J-7IIH, returned on the F-7M).

The iraqi MiG-21F-13 is the plane that defected to Israel in 1966 and was used flown by the US in the "Have Doughnut" program. I haven't done the israeli schemes yet.

I wish I could find pics of the Sudanese F-7B. I wonder which version it looked like. J-7I, J-7II or F-7M?

It fits! It's an edit/recolor of r & p models's Su-27. Thank you Xiaoyang!

Aha, you're doing a squadron of Phantonm! What version did r&p do? I only remember the iranian F-4D.

I've built a few of Oliver Bizer tiny WW2 planes (Bf-109E, Ju-87B and Spitfire mk I/II), mostly in the colors of my fictional SEA country. I did a swiss Bf-109E too. All with markers.

Lunch-break build. Parts cut & assembled during lunch-break, final assembly tonight after work.

This one is an Iraqi F-7B (or rather F-7M). I should probably change the missiles to PL-7 (ie R.550 Magic) or to some rocket pods. I didn't realize I had used the same green and tan as on the Syrian Fishbed C. I'll probably change the colors on the Syrian example. The tan should be darker.

I don't think these iraqi F-7 were ever used in combat. The Iraq-Iran war had just ended when they became operational and they had been reassigned to ground attack missions.





The next one will be from the Bangladesh Air Force but maybe not an F-7, rather a MiG-29 or an L-39ZA. I'm not sure the 3D gunpod I designed for the L-39ZA can actually be built at this scale.
