Thank you for your input. I'm quite satisfied with the wing profile. The wings were extremely thin - they were tested in real in 1944 with a low-speed Miles M.3B Falcon Six ("Gillette Falcon"). I'm not happy with the wing leading edge. It ist curved, not straight like my version of it.

And I will add some maintenance covers and rows of rivets.
Wolfgang

Just as additional input for your consideration ( and it is entirely your choice as the designer ).
I looked at a photo of the aerodynamic test models used for wind tunnel tests as well as a video on Youtube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HP6xKxrpBOY ), and I do see a curvature that is still visible at this scale you are designing.

Here is your model. I drew a red line just above the wing profile. It appears to be a flat plate

and the pictures of the aerodynamic model tested of the Miles M.52.
You can see the curvature of the wings I marked.

Again, it's your call.

Isaac

Isaac!

Thank you for your think along! I like it.

You're right. The profile isn't correct. It really looks flat on the pictures. The profile of my model isn't totaly flat but it isn't the correct profile too.

It's a compromise. I like this version as it enables the correct position of the main undercarriage too.

My version is quite simple and that's a philosophy. Keep it simple, no extreme detailing. To balance this is a challange. sometimes it works well, sometimes it's a compromise, like I said before.

The customer of course has the choice to pimp it up according to his wishes ...

May the pictures explain my way to solve it.

As I have to rework some parts I keep the wing profile in mind. Perhaps I find a better compromise for the final version.

Wolfgang

update

Hello there,

here is my beta-build of the Miles M.52. I've redone the cockpit and the wings and some minor changes too - @Isaac: thank you for your input!

Regards

Wolfgang

I hope that it will be available in "simple" and "profile" winged version... I prefer simple.

It's a great shape for a paper model to start with - no compound curves! And I like your philosophy of keeping it simple with an acceptable level of detail. Someone who wants more I am sure would know how to scratchbuild or modify certain parts.
