Convair B36

Heres my Convair B36. Another FG model. Just under 1 metre wingspan. I painted it Vallejo silver and re-drew the panel lines with black pen. Had to make the main undercarriage legs from thin ply with rolled tube legs to take the weight of this big girl. Mounted the props on toothpicks shafts so they all rotate.

Very nice! Beautiful model, fantastic job. Thanks for sharing with us. Makes me want to go out and build one for myself.

That's a good-looking model. Got any more pics, maybe some detail shots of the main undercarriage legs?

Yes, or at least a sketch or two of how they were secured.

And then my crystal ball is telling me that what you are going to do next is get the 400 page book, Convair B-36:: A Comprehensive History of America’s “Big Stick” by Meyers K. Jacobsen, just so you can build another model with open and super detailed gun turret bays and bomb bays.
Right?

Great build of an enormous bird. The details bomb bays and turrets would be really interesting to see.

That movie Strategic Air Command with Jimmy Stewart and June Alyson was on one of the cable movie channels in the USA this past week. It has scenes with a B-36 in flight.
