You have really made the most of this Fiddlers Green kit to produce a fine replica of a famous WWII-era trainer that is still flying in many places.

I was pleased to have the chance to take a back-seat hop in one of these great aircraft in the same colors about 20 years ago.

Thanks Vinalsergio155, cardmodeler and Don Boose for your comments. I see that several have flown in this magnificent plane. What envy! Regards

Thumbs up metal flying wires

I would suggest the following options for the flying wires:
-thin diameter metal rods cut to size ( I like those the best ).
or
-filament line ( used for fishing or other hobbies ).

Thread/yarn is no good. You have to stretch it first and then glue in place while it is stretched ( not easy ). But when temperature changes, they ( including fishing lines ) will relax and droop. Also, since paper is not a strong structural material in our models, it would not support thread/yarn in a stretched position for very long. So for me it's the thin metal rods.

Here are a few photos of an AN-2 Biplane I built many years ago. All the flying wires are metal rods cut to size and inserted in the wing. Then apply small amount of super glue to the end and it is done. The model is now in a small aviation museum and the wires still look great.

the metal wires are sometimes called piano or music wire and come in many diameters. Many stores carry them

Isaac - that piano wire really looks good as rigging.

I use it for whip ariels on military vehicles.

Thnak you all for your sugestions.
Yes I used sometimes piano string 1, (0,4mm) but when I enlarge the pics, it seems too thick
But metal rods are the best choice, of course

Example, see the pics of my model
