Great looking fuselage Isaac. It's a lot larger than I thought, a pretty big bird.

Gary

I't approximately 19 inches long when completed. Big!

The fact that the fuselage is straight as a string is a testament to your skill. It's so easy to build in a banana on such a long narrow shape. Well done!

It only happened to me once in the past where a large model ended up with a curved fuselage. I did not notice it during the build or afterwards, until a fellow modeler brought it to my attention during a model contest ( kind of embarrassing ). Since then, I always pay attention to that process. But if the model is designed correctly, then the builder has the responsibility to do it right.

Thank you

No air brakes

Since I did not build the air brakes, the doors were just pasted in place.

I wish the designer left it colored into the fuselage instead of the white areas.

Nothing else here

Radar nose

This aircraft carried and early radar dish in the nose. To house it, there is a rounded dome over it. In this model it comes in 5 sections plus internal bulkhead.

I added additional discs inside to support a metal rod thru the center. That rod will be glued to a hole I drilled in the mating wood dowel in the nose.

Before going too far, I did a little balancing act and found the model will need substantial nose weights to prevent it from being a tail seater.

The fishing sinkers were super glued in place. The nose dome will cover them.

Next come the fairing. Those are two rounded pieces that will mate to the dome and the inlet. Not an easy task.

Looks like a large mouth pre historic shark with open mouth

Note:
based on my research these fairings are not correct as the inlet needs to neck a bit in to meet them. This model makes no provisions for this.
Here is a picture of the actual aircraft inlet and dome:

Anyhow, its acceptable because this is such an obscure aircraft that very few will notice.

Isaac,

It looks pretty cool to me. A very nice looking front end.

Cool Vertical fin and rudder

and all the parts

attach the main portion to the frames

here are the forward fairings

ready to go.

I assembled the main fin and frame to the fuselage and when dry, I glued the forward fairing. Mostly nice fit except in one location, so I added small strips to the root/fuselage.

Isaac,

One thing is for sure, it's an extremely unique looking fuselage. It's sort of a cross between a Beriev, and a Yak-23, but with two engines.
