Well, the engines are glued to the wing.
It wasn't hard to do. Now I must paint the underside of the wing with aluminium paint, and start with the interwing struts. And one or two paint details.
As you can see the exausts are simetrical. It would have been better to glue the exausts after gluying the engines to the wing, but... the mistake I made is so small only I can see it.
Anyway, the parts are made and soon the Beta Test Stranraer will have it's upper wing too.
I'm past the stage of the assembly when one says "the next part I'll assemble is..." and I have entered in the stage when one says "just that and that remains to do!"

Thanks Gary, Thanks rifleman!

Placing 8 of the 14 interwing spars.
In the version of the plane that I'm doing, they are camouflage painted.
The one I'm going to release, they are aluminium paint.

Assembling the upper wing I saw a BIG problem of this plane, that I don't understang how it happened: each biplane since the WWI had the upper and lower wings staggered (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stagger_(aeronautics)). It was done to increase the effective sustentation surface and to prevent interference between planes.
Because the Stranraer had null stagger, this interference must have made this plane still more slow and inneficient. As I said, this is something know since WWI.

Remains to do: 2 wing tip floats, 6 interwing struts, one windshield, two footrails under the nose. In other words: almost nothing.

And the interwing supports are placed!
Just need to paint the inner four!
Soon will come the floats, the windshield and the footrails. One last layer of paint... and ready!

This has been a very instructive thread to learn about the design process of a model.

I also noticed the lack of wing stagger. This was also the design of the Walrus and several other Supermarine flying boats, and I think the reason was to allow for folding wings for carrier operations - these aircraft were used in anti-submarine roles. However it clearly hampered performance and the craft was not well liked by its crews, only 17 were used by the RAF during the war. It also had several crude nicknames based around the toilet being just a hole in the fuselage which whistled when opened...

Ok, I made a video of the Stranraer to download here:

It's a bit grainy, but for a first try..
