Don your write ups are always interesting and well founded, thanks for adding some info. The black and white pic was one I hadn't seen...
smp thank you it's always fun when I go down the rabbit hole on some aircraft

Don as an aside my uncle turned 90 this week so we had the opportunity to get more oral history from him. I knew my grandfather knew Sikorsky, Howard Houghs, sp, had been introduced to Truman for his help with solving naval engineering problems during the war. However with more discussion asked if he knew Seversky, an he did, but during the war years and after he became friends with Admiral Rickover. In my ignorance I don't know much about that Naval legend but I certainly should have. My uncle said Rickover would stop in at their house and discuss things at all hours of the day or night. They were better friends than I knew about.....you recall the story of my grandfather who saw Koga's Zero when it was at Anacostia, I was lucky to get to know him quite well as he also lived into his 90's.

Coming along quickly now, not much to do here are some outdoor pictures. The "cat" is a way to stand the model up since no gear, and can slide on the sled off the end if want to hold the plane. scratch built sled and simple catapult base

I think Ive added the things I was planning, some aileron connections, finish up the float rigging, ect. Here are some pictures, I notice I moved the cowl a bit, but this still is the finished model

Beautiful model and a beautiful display.

You really have captured the Golden Age of Naval Aviation look perfectly.

Thank you Don, I was hoping you might like this aircraft, I've been wanting to make one of these. The pre war colors were so great with the Navy.

That stand, or is it a perch in your case, just sets the whole model off. It says a lot about the mission and danger involved, The super clean build gives that double take reaction paper card modelers all strive for. One great piece of modeling.

Geez, Glen...that is a REAL beauty!

My wife and I just passed through E. Wash. Stopped in Moses Lake for a bight before the push back to Felony Way. Next time, I'll need to come see your fleet! Amazing.
