Great detailed photos, and explanations Isaac. I also love that you add a lot of historical information.

Keep up the great work.

You have the option of installing speed brakes in open position. I chose not to.

Exclamation Wing structure

The model has a full length two piece spar that penetrates the fuselage into the center frame framing.

However, it is not strong enough in my opinion. So I added two stub spars using coffee stirrers as enforcement.

and insert to the fuselage

add ribs

add top strips to facilitate the smooth wing skins.

Cool Wings on

The next phase is to wrap the wing skins over the frames.

then glue in place carefully.

Notice the wing cutouts for the separate flaps and ailerons.

The fillets will be added later.

Isaac,
Great job. I would like to know how do you deal with the silver metallic color for the whole aircraft? I am re-coloring F-104 currently and would encounter the bare metallic rear fuslage very soon. Maybe l can use your experiences in this case! Hope to hear from you soon.

The model is coming along great, as always. Straight and true. The recolor adds a whole new dimension of realism.

Isaac,

Very nice clean work. The fuselage turned out great. Looks like the wings fit well to the fuselage too.

Gary

This model lends itself to attaching the wing frames to the fuselage first and then wrapping the wings around it.

The alternative of a fully framed wing inserted to the fuselage would work if a modified center spar system is used.

thanks

Isaac
