P40C, 1/33, Paper Aircractwerks, Dragos Repaint

Amazing, I finished this today and am posting already,

Anyhoo, I found this a very nice model to build, everything fit just as expected. I made joining strips, because they were not provided in the model, there are however bulkheads which help the alignment. The radiator assembly on this kit is separate from the fuselage and it fit very well. The landing gear doors are kind of a headscratcher, but Mr. Google is your friend and there are plenty of pictures on line.

Something that is different is the sighting quadrant which hangs from the top of the wind screen. The wind screen itself is unusual because it is a one piece assembly like the wind shield of a car.

The cockpit is pretty detailed and there are a couple of pieces that were supposed to go in there that I never figured out, but with the cockpit closed it probably doesn't matter anyway.

Like I said the kit went together really well, now if I could just figure out how to do wing farings.....

The final picture is taken in the full sun here in upstate California. The temperature in the shade was 110. That's for all you guys that says it a dry heat .

I had trouble with the Hurricane and ended up binning it. Make sure you reinforce the wing especially in the area the comes out of fuselage. It needs to be strengthened there or the wings will look wonky. The fuselage goes together very well, the wings were the problem for me.

I'm going to delete wheel wells.I never had much luck making them and yes, they significantly weaken wing structure. Thanks for heads up.

btw-do you know who's the designer of those models?I can't find name anywhere and that Hurri looks a lot like models published long ago by Tri Krapki in Russia or Ukraine.

I wonder if it's the same designer.

If and when I build the Hurricane again I will reinforce the center wing section. The top of the center section sagged or whatever and made it look like the wing was skinnier there, almost like a dihedral. the wheel wells were not the problem. it is odd that it was designed that way because the wings are straight once they leave the fuselage. Must have been a reason for it but I don't know what it was.
