Number 3 - Nieuport 21E1 "Nieuport 15 metros"
Well friends.
Another plane this time from the embryonic period of Brazilian military aviation. In 1921, at the request of the Minister of War, the French Military Mission arrived in Brazil to introduce new tactics and equipment for the armed forces of Brazil. Among the planes brought by the mission were 20 Nieuport 21E1 trainer planes, which were none other than versions of the Nieuport 17 with low power engines and unarmed. All were based at the Military Aviation School in Campo dos Afonsos in the then capital of Rio de Janeiro. In 1922 two machines were transferred to São Paulo and armed to contain a popular revolt in the State of São Paulo. In Brazil, most of the Nieuport aircraft in operation here were known for the alar area and were called "Nieuport 15 meters".      What differentiates Nieuport 21 from 17 most is the cownling cut at the bottom, although not all Nie 21 had cownlings like this. At the MUSAL - Aeronautical Museum located right in Campo dos Afonsos there is a replica built with original parts of a Nie 21, but with the wrong cownling coming from a Nie 24 (which Brazil also operated). To make my Nie-21 I repainted the classic Marek model and did a kitbashing with Der Kampfflieger's Nieuport 11, taking advantage of the engine and cowling.

Beautiful Nieuport.I did that model year ago and it's still hanging here.I'll try getting it down and I'll make some pictures.This is one biplane that I build to my 100% satisfaction.
