Jacek,

The fuselage/cockpit came along nicely. Nice work for the space behind the cockpit.

Hi Jacek,

I remember this one very well. It was my first foray into MM and I was used to Schreiber and Wilhelmshaven paper models which were very precise and on fine cardboard,so the MM cardboard and their rather relaxed way to scale the bulkheads came as a shock to me. Take your time to sand the bulkheads to size, they most probably will not fit right from the start.

Cheers, Martin

Bulkheads being too large seems to be very common issue with paper models.I keep running into that problem with great many different designers. For me that's not the problem.
I would have a problem with bulkheads being too small.

That being said you are right.MM from day one has some strange way of sizing some parts and from what I hear that's still the case to some extend.

You may also notice strong similarities to the old MK.VIII published by the german Möwe Verlag in 1/50 scale. Looks like MM "drew some inspiration" from this kit. Still I like my model and I value it as an important part of my Spitfire collection.

Thank you all, hre is my progress. To stabilize the rear wheel I made it with an whole through it. So i can put a wire into the wheel for more durability. The wire is covered by the rear shock absorbers. The Fuselage is almost ready. Next step are the wings and the propeller.

The walls (or what it is called in englisch?) between the section in the front hull are little bit to samll so I had to made it thicker with some paper layers (see last pic).

Nice to see you modelling again!

Hi there my dear brother!

Nice to see you back in business again! Always admired your calm hand and patience and it is good to see you are good again to cut and paste!

I like the grey color of the white parts. Looks proper to me.

The "walls" between are called "bulkheads" and yeah, it is annoying when they are too small. But you managed nicely by simply glue them on a cardboard and cut a bit bigger. Simple solutions are the best!

You have such a great collection of airplanes, you should post some of them in the Throwback Thursday part of the forum here.

Looking forward to seeing more from this build and hope to find soon some time to finish my ship projects!

Stay healthy and keep the scissors cutting, dear big Bro!

This week I´ve vacation so i can go further with the Spitfire. I glue the propeller together but i had to paint it because the black color was not dark enaugh. The cone has to be white not blue. so I painted it also. On the 4th Pic you can see that some covering parts a little to small so I had to add some more. Later on I will paint them blue like the bottom. On the last 2 Pic you can see that on the last peace the camuflage is missing (in action?). So i finished it by my self Tomorrow I will post some pictures of the landing gears.
