Schreiber-Bogen, Udet U-12

Good afternoon, my Dear Cardmodel Aficionados,

After a long break, I started to build a model again. It is the U-12 "Flamingo" from Schreiber-Bogen. It is quite a simple model, but a good one for my came back to card modelling.

First, a lot of parts have to be glued to cardboard. I don't use the cardboard Schreiber added to the kit, but 0,9mm Finnpappe/finborad(?).

Then I started cutting out some parts, like e.g. the fuselage. It is one big piece:

The first part I glue together is the cockpit:

I decided not to change anything and build it as is.

Nice work, and thanks for the construction images.

To my eye, the U-12 was a good-looking 1920s sport plane, and your model looks to become an excellent replica.

Now the cockpit is glued into the fuselage. I squeezed the fuselage into this fixture so nothing gets warped.

I insert the cockpit and close it part by part.

While that cures, I cut out the wheel parts with a circle-cutter and glue them together.

The horizontal stabilizer is also fixed to avoid warping.

Thank you for all the friendly words. I try my best, but after the long break it is harder than I thought it would be. Cardmodelling is a complicated task.

It look to me as if your model building skills are still great. The work so far is very clean and precise. I say that you are doing excellent work on this pretty airplane.
