Nice work on the fuselage. The stabilizers fit nice and tight. Very nicely done.

Since my last post, Thanksgiving has come and gone. I used some of my time off for the holiday to work through the wings, landing gear, remaining cockpit details and canopy.
The wings took some thought on the best sequence to build the internal framework. The right side frame needed some trimming to allow the skin to fit. I trimmed the frame on the left side earlier in the process to ease its assembly. Luckily the fillet pieces at the wing root were such that they actually fit without too much fuss. I did have to add some filler at the front where the wing and fuselage sections did not want to meet each other. The main gear built up well and seems to be sturdy enough when glued into place with CA glue. The tires are six layers thick. I chucked them onto my rotary tool, filled the grooves between the layers with putty and sanded them to shape. The finished tires were then painted black and the silver centers installed. The tail wheel was also layers needing shaped, but it was too small to use my rotary tool, so I did this with a knife by hand. The head rest and gun sight were built up next. The headrest was straight forward. The gun sight was quite fiddly. Then there was the canopy. Both inner and outer frames are provided, but I opted to color the backside of the outer frames with a teal Pitt pen instead of use the inner ones. Then I carefully glued the frame onto the vacuum formed canopy I bought for this model. The back half of the canopy frame fit fine. The front half not so much. I needed to section the clear canopy and re-glue to get a better fit. After that, my test fit wasn't going so good, so I cut the canopy into two and voila an open cockpit! greg

Great job Greg. Even with the canopy open, you can't see the rudder pedals. I look forward to the "glam" shots.

So I finished this one up last night.
I added the exhaust pipes, pitot tube, chin and nose scoops, and aerial. This only left me with the props and spinner. The spinner was quite complex and has tons of internal parts to provide support for the props and the conical skin structure of the spinner itself. Going strictly by the part numbering (26 a-j) did not seem the best approach to construction sequence. So. I cut everything out and developed my own sequence which worked for me. Once the props were installed this build came to a close. This is a very good intermediate level build and would make an excellent first Halinski project. Just don't confuse this one with their Hayabusa II, which is much more detailed and complex. The finished product looks good next to its fellow country's Zero. Greg
