New report and new photos.
Work is still in progress, I made some new elements.
This kit is really badly designed. Here you can clearly see in one photo what kind of errors, faults this model has. It's just riddled with them...

I suggest that you putty and paint the forward engine copper in copper color.

also, putty the propeller spinner as well as the wheel pants and paint those to improve the look

I appreciate all the information on the kit, its shortcomings, and your measures to correct the deficiencies.

Isaac

Isaac, that's exactly what I always do in situations like this. And here, in the photo report below, it can be seen. However, the paint on the wheel pants is now different, much closer to the rest of the plane. As I'm writing this post, Karaś is already finished.
I hope to show the finished model in the next few days, maybe even tomorrow, who knows.

Exclamation

The green color shown here looks a bit strange on those wheel pants.

There is also an option of removing the wheel pants entirely. Aircraft operating from wet grass fields usually had them removed ( like the German Stuka ).

Nice piece of work on this often overlooked aircraft.

Yes, thank you for sharing. This plane has a je ne sais quoi. A certain rare beauty, it looks terrific.

Thanks everyone for following this thread. We've reached the end.

Today I'm showing you the finished model, the result of my hard work. As I said, the kit was riddled with errors, inaccuracies, etc. Everything has been pointed out and I guess there's nothing else to add in this aspect...
I think I did what I could, did my best with this PZL-23.
I would never recommend this model, it's much better to get the earlier release from MM(year 1969), or the one Isaac suggests, from Fly Model.

About that green color on the wheel pants. Maybe my words were not precise but I thought I clearly said that this color was not definitive. My last report was still a work-in-progress update, so the model in it was not finished too. Model was finished at the time I wrote that post, but the photos were couple days old as I always try to gather a bigger number of them for updates. Today you can see the finished model, the definitive result.

For the end, a bit of history of this plane. It belonged to the 55 Samodzielna Eskadra Bombowa. If anyone's interested in reading more about it, the only websites I found are in Polish and have to be translated if you don't know this language.
55 Samodzielna Eskadra Bombowa – Wikipedia, wolna encyklopedia

samolotypolskie.pl - PZL-23 "Karaś"

Photos of the finished Karaś were taken by my grandson, Kacper(PacificWind).
