Cockpit seating
The position of the rear seat really bothered me with the placement practically at the edge of a very large cockpit. In the recon version, the observer could look at the side windows. Even then, it was too close to the sides. In the jet bomber version, the crew member in the back was probably the navigator, radio person and ........
Here is the placement in the original model and relocated in the middle behind the pilot. There is no instrument panel because I don't really know why have a second person for a bomber that carried only a single bomb. Isaac

Isaac, the 2nd seat relocation does look a lot more practical. Well done.

There is a Youtube video (War Thunder) with the R2Y2 as its subject War Thunder R2Y2 COCKPIT GAMEPLAY- War Thunder Jet Gameplay - YouTube. The cockpit is featured, and the seats are in line as you have them now. The layout of the seats in the propeller driven R2Y1 may have been off set due to the center prop shaft, but in the planned jet version, who knows? Your new layout makes more sense.

Lots of wrongs with this plane
There is a lot wrong with this airplane.
In the cockpit, there is no need for an offset control wheel since the prop shaft is no longer under the pilot seat going forward. In addition, it has a huge canopy that serves no purpose for a "fast bomber". also, there really is no need for a second crew man unless this is a long range bomber and there is a need for a navigator ( I doubt it. It's range was probably less than 500 miles if the pilot was to return ). and the entire airplane is ill suited for jet work. For starters, the fuselage is way too wide and stubby. In the original prop version, they packed two engines side by side in the mid fuselage. There is no attempt to aerodynamically smooth the fuselage in this concept. Also, the engines ( on paper ) could produce under 2,000 lb thrust, and with those huge fat wings, I doubt the plane could fly faster than 350 to 400 MPH. So why waste resources into this flying whale of a plane only to drop a single bomb of less than 1,000 lbs and maybe strafe ground targets at great risk to the plane and crew. This is one of those What If planes that definitely would have flown nowhere. But as I said, it is a fun project to build and have placed next to my other experimental and concept planes. Isaac

Engines
The engine nacelles are simple with minimum detail
attached to the wing. Note : I am not sure why the designer elected to have an upper fairing to the engine to go over the wing. The part has no curvature to it and just lays on top of the wing flat ( nothing to round ) . In reality, there would not have been an upper fairing as the engines were completely under slang like the Me-262. But if there were some engine accessories that needed fairing ( like the Soviet Suchoi-9 first generation, then it would have been much larger. Here is the engine to wing fillet underside left engine done and installed. second note : apologies for the glue marks. I am still struggling with the UHU glue and it just got away from me. Isaac

That looks cool, Isaac. You are right! Those "tiny" engines would maybe propel that thing a bit over 375mph. It would be cool to make a 262 and photograph them together.
Nice job and persevere with your glue! Dan |

She looks great Isaac. Those nacelles fit nice and tight.

Comparison pictures next to the Me-262, Kikka and Su-9 first generation all similar planes will be coming up shortly. Isaac
