Nice job Isaac. You did do a great job on the petals. The fuselage is coming along very nicely.

Exclamation Aft fuselage

Aft section is similar to the front with the addition of a horizontal fin fairing.

Exclamation Fin fairing

The aircraft has a horizontal fin with the twin vertical fins at the end.

Here is the joint location on the aft fuselage.

Man...for someone who hates petals, it looks like you nailed it!

Nice job so far, Isaac.

Thank you guys for following this build.

I needed something that follows the theme of experimental jets and this was one of them.

The construction so far is simple.

Exclamation Horizontal fin

Here is the horizontal tail fin. My only addition is the wood center spar for better support.

parts
Heinkel He-280 1/33 Marek design-img_3278.jpg

Heinkel He-280 1/33 Marek design-img_3279.jpg

and installed
Heinkel He-280 1/33 Marek design-img_3280.jpg
The wood spar will be trimmed to size later

Note : do not glue the vertical end fins at this point because they are flimsy and will fall off during handling. Those will be added later at the end.

Cool Wings

the first thing needed is to build the frames. Those are supported by metal rods thru the fuselage.
Heinkel He-280 1/33 Marek design-img_3282.jpg

I like this type of structure because it is simple and light.

Here is the assembled wing frame ( including the landing gear bay ).
Heinkel He-280 1/33 Marek design-img_3283.jpgHeinkel He-280 1/33 Marek design-img_3284.jpg

The wing skins are next. Notice that the wing comes in inner and outer section due to the dihedral on the outer wing panel.
Heinkel He-280 1/33 Marek design-img_3285.jpg

here is the wing
Heinkel He-280 1/33 Marek design-img_3286.jpg

dry fitting the frame to the metal rods

dry fit the wing

now both wing frames are on
Heinkel He-280 1/33 Marek design-img_3297.jpg

glue frames in place using CA ( super glue ).

Exclamation Wings on

The wing skins are slipped on and glued in place

add the root fillet

Technical comment on the actual aircraft design: If this was intended to be a fighter plane, then the wing is way too large for any meaningful speed or maneuverability. This prototype would have needed major modifications to be an effective fighter plane ( and much bigger jet engines. But that's later.
