Very nice model.

This would be a big model even in 1:100 scale. About 25% longer and 35% larger wingspan than B-17. If B-17 is 3 pages ,DC-4E would be about 5. Not many details but due to "whale" shape it would have a lot of fuselage sections. Think (almost) Curtiss Commando.

Designing an airplane from zero

The Universe of Scissors and Planes Airplanes is so extensive that Master Bruno vanHecke also taught us how to design an airplane. This time we are going to go a little further than just recoloring or correcting or modifying a kit; we are going to design an airplane of which there are no templates. The candidates to take into account are: the Consolidated B-32 Dominator and the Shenyang J-8i Finback. The scale will be 1/100 and from there you can re-scale. The method I use is Bruno VanHecke's Offset Slanted Truncated Cones.

I developed an Excel program to empty the information and generate the guiding vectors to draw the figures of the sections of the plane. I draw the pieces using the Geogebra program which is used in public schools in Mexico provided free by the Government of my Country.

[IMG][/IMG]
Step1.- the information is collected. Two folders are created, one for each plane and filled with images and the information collected. 2.- The drawing of three views of the plane in process is achieved. 3.- The fuselage is sectioned into truncated conical parts. 3.- The measurements of the cones and the cabin are calculated with the Excel program. 4.- The pieces are printed and the beta-test-build is done in a blank version. 5.- The necessary adjustments and corrections are made. 6.- The color scheme is made. 7.- The final version is assembled. All this will go in an Album that I will create for that purpose. Greetings to all and happy armed.

I know my vote would go to the B-32. The J-8 is basically a twin engine Mig-21.

Great to see my teachings are used properly.
Thanks so much for showing the way to others as well.
