A very nice and clean front fuselage. Good work, Isaac.

Question Wings

The model has an inner wing section ( sort of like a fillet ) that is a bit of a transition from the wing to the fuselage.

The designer selected a butt joined design. This however as simple as it looks, never worked for me unless there is an overlapping strip on top of the joint.

However, I decided to give it a go once more ( a mistake ). My concern was that I would not be able to match the wing to fuselage connection since there is no fillet in this kit. Anyhow.....

Here is the center wing structure which will house the main gear bay.
-img_3545.jpg

I added a wood strip to act as the main support for the main landing gear struts. It will be cut to size. The inner stub wing skins match the fuselage, but I had a rough time with the ribs.

Here is a bottom view so far.

You might of had a rough time, but the result still looks pretty good.

Red face Wings

Here are the wing frames
-img_3549.jpg-img_3550.jpg

the wing skin
-img_3552.jpg

notice there is a separate ailerons
-img_3553.jpg

ready to assemble
-img_3554.jpg

assembled
-img_3555.jpg

I added extra dowels to the wing root to aid in stiffness.
-img_3556.jpg

The outer wing is butt joined ( I could not match the sections and the results are not to my liking ).
-img_3557.jpg-img_3558.jpg

add the aileron
-img_3559.jpg-img_3560.jpg

Notice the wing tip structure is protruding. That will be cut off since the tips are squared off and not rounded as in the kit design.

both wings are on. Not a perfect fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-img_3561.jpg-img_3562.jpg

Solution : add a strip that covers the ugly butt joint .
-img_3564.jpg-img_3565.jpg-img_3566.jpg

Note :

I should have pre joined the wings using a glue strip and then fit to the fuselage. Also, the designer is missing a small fillet that was on the actual plane.

That is all for now.

I guess this kit needs a few additional parts, and changes. Joiner strips for the fuselage and the wings, wing fillets, and fix the wing tips.

Even with all of the challenges, the aircraft still looks very nice. Keep it up Isaac.

It looks great with the separate control surfaces. It's starting to look like an aircraft with tail added.
