Thumbs up

Thank you for your suggestion, but I prefer doing front to back for the forward section and back to front on the aft section.

I usually join at the cockpit section later which is easier for me to use my fingers thru the opening.

Exclamation Fuselage center sections structure

The center section up to the cockpit has a substantial set of inner structure/framing
Mig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-img_5256.jpgMig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-img_5257.jpg

the cockpit tub is built, but is not glued. Just fit check.

here is the inner support for the wing spar . Very unusual because you have to precisely match it and not sure if the front and back will accommodate it short of some surgery.

align with the cut out in the fuselage

I inserted a wood coffee stirrer to act as a temporary ( as it turned out it would be permanent ) locator

Guys, thanks.

This is an unusual version of the Mig-21. I just love those experimental planes.

As an aside, I built many of those in plastic at 1/72 scale. In plastic it was easier to build derivatives. In paper, it requires a lot more design upfront.

Exclamation Inlet frame

The framing for the air inlet and splitter is shown here.

The rest of the inlet assembly will be done separately and added once the rest of the fuselage is completed.

Unhappy Marking discrepancy

I noted that the aircraft numbers ( Red 82 ) on the sides of the fuselage either side of the cockpit are not the same
Mig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-img_5273.jpg

the left side has rivet heads showing
Mig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-img_5275.jpg

the right side has plain number
Mig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-img_5276.jpg

another mismatch are the bands across the fuselage. They do not match each other and on one side are totally missing?
Mig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-mismatch.jpg

These are only two of many rendering issues this kit has.

Fuselage section- Area B-C

Next, lets add the sections around the cockpit and aft ( I call it Area B and C ).
Mig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-fuselage-sections-build.jpg

here are the parts
Mig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-img_5278.jpg

center section
Mig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-img_5279.jpgMig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-img_5280.jpg

glue the half section
Mig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-img_5282.jpgMig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-img_5283.jpg

the framing is in position, but not glued yet ( some trimming is needed to match the bottom.
Mig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-img_5284.jpg

section around the cockpit
Mig-Ye8 Model Kom in 1/33-img_5286.jpg

now glue it to the inner framing ( flush and flat to accommodate the inlet assembly )

Isaac,

Too bad about the rendering issues. Good news is everything seems to be aligning quite nicely so far.
