That's going to be interesting team work! Don who provides the historical background and Dan who builds.

Don, you seem to have quite a bit of knowledge of the Japanese language. My youngest son taught himself Japanese, so nothing less than a lot of respect for you. It's tough .

Regards,
Erik

All,
Here's a bit more and a good stopping point while I go to visit my Mom for a week. I did the same routine with the petal spinner of using super glue to harden it and then sanding/filling/priming to make a nice end product. I'll airbrush it later. My petal was my best so far, but still far from being presentable or Polish!

Then I made the prop blades using cut and sanded toothpicks for the interior bracing. I'm trying to show in one picture that it actually spins well!

When I'm back, I'll start on the cylinders but getting the prop done is a good milestone.

More later,
Dan

Props and spinner look great Dan. Enjoy your visit with your Mom.

Well...after a looooonnnnnng break (self-induced with WWI models...dang it), I started back on this guy. Nothing exciting, but I got the prop repainted a brown red which I think looks pretty nice. More engine parts soon...

The spinner and prop continue to look magnificent, especially now that they are 茶色.

Ganbatte!

The prop and spinner color look correct.

Also spray painting makes it smooth.

Good job. You are doing your best!

Isaac

Thanks Don and Isaac!

After finishing the Se-5a, I'm back on this little guy. I started the cockpit and the nearby skinning. So far, everything fits really precisely. The thickness of the double skin coupled with the delicate nature of the formers may make for some tense moments, but we shall persevere!

More soon...Dan

Thanks, YOAV. Means a lot coming from you!

I got more of the fuselage together. It has all fit really, really well. Halinski-like but slightly less detail. Still very satisfying and it's shaping up into a really neat model. Seams are almost non-existent so I'm pleased thus far.

More soon...Dan
