I don't have any details, but there were civilian versions of the Boeing 100, which was the Boeing nomenclature of the F4B-4. Here are some examples. Image 3 was the prototype, which I guess counts as a civilian aircraft.

Thanks Don,
I wasn't able to find any and that's why I asked. Picture search now with your pictures at hand is much easier - I believe in the second picture is Boeing 100A, a variant that was built for Mr. Howard Hughes only (he ordered two of them)! And that's Hughes in the picture too. Won some races and broke records with it.

Thanks Tappi and thanks Don.

According to Wiki, the subject of Don's third photo is indeed a civilian aircraft- NX872H was one of four Model 100's built specifically for the civilian market. Imagine owning one!
The first photo is the Model 83 prototype (for both Army and Navy) which I assume is the same colours as NX872H. The other pics are the development and modification progression of the Hughes 100A which you can see was originally a two seater.

I might down the track look at doing repaints of one or more of these beautiful little Boeing gems.

The model 83 was a pretty plane. It led to another pretty Boeing. the P-12, the first example flown by Capt Ira Eaker (per Squadron/Signal reference book). Eaker's P-12 sported a black and red color scheme on the fuselage.

This discussion of Model 256 and derivates is very very intersting.

I built Rata's repaint of the Scissors and Planes Boeing F4B-4. The model's wingspan is 3.5 inches. I'm now building FG's Cessna 150/152 rescaled to 1/100. This model's wing spans 4". I've rechecked calculations for both models, and they seem correct. I'm surprised to see that the Cessna is a larger plane overall. The Boeing fighter was tiny, indeed.

Next up is another recent repaint: Scissors & Planes de Havilland D.H.98 Mosquito B Mk.IX. Based on one of Bruno earlier models, it required the addition of landing gear and details such as air scoops and exhaust shrouds.

I've done other marks, including a Mk.XVIII, NF Mk.30 and a silver RAAF Mk.VI which will be posted on here as I build them.

Thanks for looking.
