Any aviation modeller who wants at least one Douglas Skyraider in their collection could not deny the spads of VA-176 'Thunderbolts' would have to take top priority.
Would like to take credit for this one (apparently A1-H BuNo 137543) as being one of my repaints, but it's all Bruno: #2159 on his list.

Thanks fellas. I remember as a kid eyeing off the Monogram 1/48 kit in the hobby shops. Monogram kits weren't all that common and relatively expensive here in Australia and as the same asking price would buy a number of 1/72 kits I never took the plunge to buy one.

Another repaint, this one requested by my friend Pericles. A Brazilian North American T-6G Texan.

I asked Rata to make this version, I'm suspicious, but the construction, improvement on the original model and the version excite me a lot, the T-6 was used in Brazil from 1941 to 1975 and was immortalized as the first aircraft of the Esquadrilha da Fumaça (Smoke Squadron), many of today's maneuvers, doctrines were developed on the venerable T-6, many pilots of the squadron were "Jambocks", pilots 1st Fighter Aviation Group in Italy the famous "Senta a Pua" flying P-47 against the German forces, the plane that the Rata repainted in particular is the one that commander Nelio Moura flew during his stay as "Fumaceiro" (smoker) in the late 50's, being the record holder for ground attack missions in Italy.

Thanks for that info Per. To me it always adds interest to any modelling project when you know some history of the subject.

A couple more on the theme of old plastic kit repros. These Messerschmitt Bf.109E's were the subject of the old Hasegawa 1/72 kit. One is a Bf.109E-7 of III/SKG.210 'Wespen', and the other is a Bf.109E-4 as flown by Generalleutnant Adolf Galland of JG.26.
I'll submit to Ecards as a double set for $1.50. Cheers, Garry

Very nice.To me Me-109 is a constant reminder of my struggles with painting of German camo planes. I could never get it right. Huge part of the reason why I went back to card and never looked back. Thanks for the memories
