I found a decal sheet for the QANTAS kangaroo version, so that one should be a go, once I get back to modelling (Only 190 pages left on the website rebuild.)

A beautiful rendition of a beautiful airliner of "The World's Most Experienced Airline."

Back in the day, an ex-RAAF Australian friend of mine who flew for Cathay Pacific told me of taxying past a Panam 747 that had run slightly off the taxiway at Kai Tak and gotten mired in the mud. He said he couldn't resist getting on the blower and announcing, "Ladies and gentlemen, if you look out on the right side of the aircraft, you will see the world's most experienced airline having one of its experiences."

Another beauty. Those simple Pan-Am schemes of old still look good.

Given any opportunity, it's in our DNA to have a 'dig' at a Yank Don. But it always comes from a place of fondness, respect, admiration and the fact that we're just a bunch of smart alecs.

B747 Shuttle Carrier, NASA-2

B747 Shuttle Carrier, NASA-2 is now up with the shuttle, Enterprise, from AXM, originally at 1/144 but now downscale to 1/300 to match the NASA-2 (to be shown in the next post).
I believe that if Murph designs his own shuttle, it will be much much better. And I'll be the first one to buy it!
From my experience in building the shuttle, I think that the AXM shuttle has a lot of room for improvement in terms of design of parts and building instruction. The most problematic is the nose section of the shuttle and then the wings when joining the fuselage. Perhaps that's why out of the four instructional pictures, not one closes in on the nose part, especially view from under. I don't want to be too critical, perhaps it's my poor craftsmanship that didn't do it right.

Now NASA-2 with shuttle Enterprise on her back. Remember the shuttle is a third party kit from AXM.

Stunning assembly! I'd absolutely love to pick up a shuttle if Aaron designs one, too, especially the early variants. I like to think of different paper models of the same machine as unique interpretations reflecting the perspective of the artist. AXM's model is truly fascinating in how it is put together, I loved building it as one of my first ever models, despite not having the skills to do a decent job. Yours looks marvellous!
