Very nice GeeBee R. I have rescaled to 1/100 FG's GeeBee Z, unbuilt as of yet. Two unusual but pretty planes.

Sweet! I have to give this scale a try sometime (although I do build 1/96 at the moment ;D). I'll wait for the Boeing P-12 to appear.

Wonderful job on that. I expect your liking of big radials in little stubby airplanes is indicative of your site name . Keep up the lovely work.

Just a passing obsession John!

Afaik I-16 was one and only successful and mass produced plane based on Gee-Bee type of aircraft construction. It was of course very different internally but principals were the same. Great looking Gee Bee.When I build mine I found it much harder to build than it looked.

On other note way back there were few Mosquitos used in races (wink, wink).

It came out great. A worthy addition to your growing collection of tiny racers.

If you build the Crosby CR4 from Fiddler's Green, I've been there, done that. This thread may be helpful. 1938 Crosby Cr 4, 1/72

Thanks for that Don. I indeed do have that very CR-4 model for future inclusion. Looking how small your 1/72 build was I'm anticipating a challenge in 1/100!

Thanks Péricles.

First of all Merry Christmas to all!

Next up is the extensively modified Curtiss XF6C-6 that USMC Capt Arthur H. Page flew in the 1930 Thompson Trophy Race held at NAS Glenview. It was developed from an already modified F6C-3 Hawk (A-7147) float biplane that Capt. Page had raced previously. Though showing a very promising performance early in the race, tragically it crashed on the 17th lap due to Capt. Page being overcome by carbon monoxide fumes seeping into the cockpit. The aircraft was destroyed with Capt. Page later succumbing to injuries.
This model sort of follows the full size development: I originally started with a S&P F6C-3: rounded off the fuselage, eliminated lower wing, added flush radiators on upper wing along with new struts, cockpit and landing gear.
As a Christmas present to the forum, this model will be submitted for approval as a free download for anyone who would like a copy.
