Ah, yes. Excellent. Thanks for that link to your old thread.

It was that thread I was referring to in my original post. Apologies for not recalling it was yours.

Next up is another Bell WWII product adapted for racing: Tex Johnston's Cobra II won the 1946 Thompson Trophy Race at an average speed of 373.9 mph.

Though never regarded as a great fighter, to my eye the P-39 is still one of the prettiest fighters of the war.

This is a S&P repaint and will be submitted to Ecards.

Thanks for looking in Don. Page 103 in Mendenhall's book this one!
If you check pages 49 and 57 in that same book, down the track I'll be attempting conversions of one of Bruno's F6C's. Fingers crossed, I would really like a model of the Page-Curtiss XF6C-6.

I have found this racer.
Really a P-63 A Kingcobra with clipped wings.

Thanks for that. NX62995 is the same Kingcobra as my first post in this thread with different markings.

John Dell and Dave Winfield also have Air Racers
I believe that John's collection is focused on Mustangs, whereas Dave's run the gamut.

Just in case you need more kits to build

Rick

Thanks for that Rick. Fiddlers Green has a pretty good range of Golden Age racers too.

Next up is another Scissors & Planes product- #481-482. The double designator reflects the fact that Bruno has provided both the long and short wing versions on the sheet.
Flown by Howard Hughes, the short wing version set a world's landplane speed record of 352.39 mph on Sept 13, 1935.
In the extended span version he then, on Jan 17, 1937, set Los Angeles to New York record (7 hrs 28 min) 332 mph average speed.
