Here is finished Rata recolor of F4F Wildcat in colors as flown by Lt.Cdr John S. Thach of Vf-3 from US Yorktown. According to Wiki he shot down 3 A6M Zeros during Battle of Midway.
Enjoy Here is a good article on his action plus with his own account of it. Flying into a Beehive: Fighting Three at Midway | Naval History Magazine - June 2007 Volume 21, Number 3 |

After very successful and beautiful build of B5N2 recolor by Rata I wanted to try the original Bruno version + added undercarriage and wing fairings. Here it is. It's no 119 in catalogue so it's an oldie but goodie.
Model is in colors of one of machines taking part in Pearl Harbor attack but based on info I found on net it's safe to assume that great many of Japanese planes flying in June 42 looked exactly the same like in Dec 41 with possible exception of new replacements added to air stock. To my knowledge Japanese Navy didn't change regulations in regards of plane colors or markings (I'm not so sure about yellow leading edge on wings). Enjoy Rata's reclor is here http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/756397-post32.html |
