Yugoslav MiG-21R in 1:200

This is a new evolution in my family of Fishbeds. I finally made the spine for the 3rd generation (MiG-21R, S, SM, M, MF). The spine is new but the canopy itself is the exact same one as on my previous MiG-21PFM.

I went for flat versions of the reconnaissance pods.

While forming the canopy, I made it square when I should have given it some curves.

The last 2 pictures show it with my clone of Ojimak's Fishbed.

I need to add more tabs.

This Yugoslav MiG-21R is from 1971. The sider number was later removed from the nose and it was still in service in the 1990ies (but with newer national markings).

Looks terrific Carlos. What's your secret for that neat and straight nose probe? Surely not rolled paper in 1/200!?

The small scale mig-21s are looking fantastic Carlos. The 21 is one of my favorites as I currently have four and plan to build more in 1:48 scale.

Nah, it's cruder that that : double sided flat surfaces, like the recce pod. I could have done that one as 3D but not the probe.

Soviet MiG-21R in 1:200

I did a test-build of the MiG-21R in soviet camo. Not satisfied with the colors I chose but the camo scheme seems to align more or less OK.

24 white outline of 263 OAETR operated from Kabul in 1982.

For me the colors are great, these types of camouflage are the ones that I like the most. The alignment looks very good Carlos, great job!

Thank you, Hyair. It's one of my favourites too. I love your builds.

Thanks, Sergio.I love camos but they're time consuming and always require a test-build. I'll still do more of them.

Next weeks's build? Unless it's a MiG-21I Analog. The R-3S seem like an anachronism with those nationality markings. I should probably replace them with R-60s.
