Thanks, Erik! Much appreciated...
I started the "priming, sanding, filling, sanding and priming again" process. You can see the raw edges and bits of schmutz after the first primer run. Also, steps were manifested on the lower fuselage sides. After some putty and sanding, though...the last couple of shots show it's pretty much ready for color.

The only thing that didn't go to plan was that my embossing from the back side needs to be heavier as you can barely see the stab/elevator/rudder lines. I'll need to go over the wings before I skin them if I want them a little more pronounced.

Looks nice, though! Can't wait to start spraying. I think I'll mix some turquoise for the lower parts tonight and maybe give it a spray! We'll see.

Thanks for looking,
Dan

Thanks a lot, Bob...sorry for the late reply. Hopefully more is done on this guy by the time you read my response!

I started painting! I got the bottom of the fuselage covered in a Fokker turquoise (at least I think it looks ok), masked it off and shot white on the tails and fuselage sides for the eventual crosses and tail markings. It's going to have cool black and white stripes on the stab so stay tuned. I also got the cowling painted an olive drab color that I hope is close to what was used in the Fokker Factory. More soon...Dan

You never know what the Fokker factory used for coloring.... in those days all pictures were black and white . Have fun with the recoloring!

Erik...Anthony would have laughed!

Here is my attempt at the elusive streaking. I still need to put the little, tiny turquoise wrap on the bottom longeron and tomorrow, I'll be putting the black stripes on the stab/elevators along with the crosses on the rudder and fuselage. Looking Fokkery from my perspective.

Cheers,
Dan

Thank you very much, Ray and Gary! I'm enjoying my non-computer recolor. I can't imaging you doing this, Ray...seems really complicated on Gimp or some such...

I didn't get as far as I'd liked...got home late...but I did get the stripes on the stab/elevator. It really pops and the crosses will really set it all off nicely.

More soon,
Dan

Looking good Dan, eh..... WW2 invasion stripes? Oh boy, Fokker really was ahead of his time!

That's quite an impressive paint job! Looking forward to seeing this one completed. I, myself am scared to death at the thought of building a biplane, much less adding that third wing to the mix!
