Supermarine Stranraer in 1/100 "Glue by Numbers"

This 2021 christmas gave a LOT of new ideas, both in papermodel and in real life.

Papermodel ideas includes a new set of Supermarine Stranraers, all of then in 1/100 scale. Includes too two new planes that will be show in their respective threads.

This 1/100 Stranraer is going to be based in my previous 1/72 one, but greatly simplified and with a lot less parts. That's why it will belong to the line "Glue by Numbers", being the goal to convert hem in a kind of Lego.

Simplifying and joining parts.
So far, the fuselage has gone from 70+ to 27 parts. And I could simplify it more if I wanted to remove the distinctive bell-shape of the bow.

By the end, I expect to reduce the amount of parts in half, overall.

Good project Draco. Small scale builders will appreciate it.

Thanks, Rata!

Well, the bow of the plane is finished!
The alpha test model won't have any camouflage, it's going to be "factory finished"
The beta test will have the BN-L Coastal Command camouflage, with two blue gray tones upside, and silver underside.

Continuing assembling the 1/100 scale model of the Stranraer.

There are small changes to do, mainly in the size and position of the tabs.

But, as you can see, the fuselage is finished, now comes the tail, and later, wings and engines.

The fuselage and tail are finished. I'm documenting the assembly of the Alpha model to use it as an instructions guide.
You can see that I have replaced the hard wedge that usually protudes from the fuselage and goes into the wing with a single wire. It works at this scale, It is probably unnecesary, but I really feel the need to design strong models.
The fuselage parts went from 70+ to 24, the tail from 15 to 7 and all the wings from 76 to 55 (or 27 if you want to remove some internal wing reinforcements).

Wonderfull!
I really really hope to finish it tonight for beta testing!

If I were to change only the scale it would had been finished days ago, buy I'm removing a lot of internal reinforcements that are necessary for the 1/33 model, and joining parts that otherwise will be too small in 1/100.

Anyway, I'm enjoying assembling it, and that's the important part!

Well, the reworking of the engines and floats took more time than I had expected!
But I decreased the number of parts from 28 each engine to 16, and the floats, from 20 to 14!
I couldn't decrease the struts number of parts, because... struts!
(And yes, there is a bit of warping in the wings, but this is the alpha model, I'm just checking that the parts fix perfectly and nothing is being left out!)
