Starting to assemble the wings. At last!

The tail struts are placed (See that the lower struts must be painted in aluminum color, so it won't be done yet)

You can compare the lower wings with the central section of the upper wings, and see the size difference. In fact, the Saro London is a sesquiplane, not a classical biplane.

I'll like to talk a bit about fear.

Some of the people who follows my posts would like to assemble my planes, but fear that they can't do them because have more parts, that, let's say, the ones from Zio Prudenzio. They have more than ten parts.

Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

You know that everybody learns. You know that everybody can do better with practice. And this hobby allows mistakes: if you did something wrong, just print it again. Nobody needs to know.

But doing something that you believed was hard, it gives you confidence to make something in other areas of your life that can help you. To do something in your work, or relationships. So be bold, even if it's just a bit a day.

And, you know, you'll end with a wonderfull plane, assembled by yourself!

Ok, today I found another specimen from the 240th squadron, but the picture only shows that the roundels are full instead of four-colored. So, nothing in reality.

Continuing with the assembly, I checked the span of the main wings, and the result is as it must be.

You can see the "towers" that will help with the asembly of the wings.

I draw, and I'm going to paint, the codes and roundels. The yellow cut is not a mistake, the real one had it. Another detail is that the wings camouflaje has some mistakes, that are going to be corrected before releasing the model to ecardmodels.

So, right now, everything is going fine as expected.

After having corrected the mistake with the lower wings paint scheme, I'm proceding to asemble the upper wings. You can see the difference between both sets of wings and the Stranraer.

Of course, this is only the first layer of paint for me and the model that I will release will be printed in color, not retouches needed.

The base has now the name properly written, and I'll include a wooden background for the final one.

Due to a strong wing, I can certify that the model can resist easily a fall from a table without problems.

And... working!

The upper wing is finished, and the "Assembling Towers" are letting me to do a full test.

The central section of the upper wing is higger because there were stored four fuel tanks. Yes! and another external giant tank that can be placed between the wings! All of this to obtain a range of 1800 Km, just 10% more than the Stranraer.

Anyway, now all design the engines while I paint the codes and roundels on the fuselage, upper wings and tail.

Wow! two consecutive post with spelling mistakes!
Fist is: "Due to a strong winD", no wing
And second: "Anyway, now all I NEED TO DO IS design the engines"

On my behalf, I'm in starting a new proyect in a web site, so it's a race against the clock.

When coming up with such sharp projects, smelling err0rs are unimportant. You make great airframes mate.

Thanks, wireandpaper, thanks Mike!

Today I have been assembling the auxiliary fuel tank.

And, while I was checking the pictures, I found something weird about the covers of the prototype engines. I could had sworn that they were octogonals... but the pictures showed something that didn't fit... until I remembered that the Bristol pegasus had nine cylinders, and found a picture that clarified the nine sided cover.

At least I saw it before starting to assemble the prototype.

Anyway, The model will include the auxiliary tank, but it will be optional AND removable.
