Exclamation forward sections

Section 4 has the side inlets for the engine intake. Those are drawn upon the German WW2 design of the Me P1112 concept jet to create a conformal intakes blended into the sideways oval shaped fuselage cross section

and here is the Lansen intake. Notice the boundary layer separator in the intake? Unfortunately this model designer omitted it to keep it simple.

here are the parts

the next section 4 has the cutouts for the intake and the tandem cockpits

I will assemble those a bit later. But next I will start at the exhaust and go forward.

Exclamation Exhaust section

The Lansen was powered by a British designed Rolls Royce Avon engine having an axial flow compressor ( a departure from the large diameter radial flow compressor jets.

The exhaust section of the actual plane here.

However, either I or the designer misinterpreted that section showing the small gap between the exhaust and the fuselage inner rear section. Thus I glued it per the sketch ( which is wrong ). However the detail is minor.

Here is the build and you can see that the silver circular section is a bit short in diameter, so I placed that on top where it will not be seen and covered up later.

Isaac, the Lansen build is going very well. That is a different shape for an exhaust.

Keep up the great work.

The original Avon engine did not have this type of a nozzle. The exhaust nozzle with a simple variable nozzle area was designed by the Swedes just like the later engine arrangement and trust reverser on the Viggen. The engine was then license manufactured in Sweden.

Cool I am back

I had a great time at the airshow/expo. Lots of old and new. High and low tech aircraft and cars. Came home tired after a week of airplanes.

Here are some pics of the show
