Busted! mvink, rickstef, Rata (very funny) caught on. Everything after the first paragraph is made up, but....I almost believed it myself! Hope no one is offended! Jim

Nicely done, Jim! I was taken in completely, even though I was sensitive to the date and on the lookout for such posts. Your narrative just sounded to doggone plausible!

I thought of reviving my Cunliffe-Owen OA-1 thread for the occasion, and even thought of asking Rata or Murph to participate by producing some profiles in the appropriate markings, but got started too late to do it this year
Cunliffe-Owen OA-1 (Burnelli UB-14)

Incidentally, everything in that post is true except for the specific aircraft and one of the sources (Kumalo Kerpi), although the real sources do not, of course, mention the OA-1.

Indeed, well done.
although some people have the excuse to live in a different time zone. On my computer the original post is marker 04-02-2022 at 4:34 AM. So for Rata it surely must have been much later already
