Hang it from the ceiling in flight would normally be the obvious answer...except that would preclude display with the nose open and playing with loading and unloading cargo.
I'm building an A330 at the moment which has irritatingly thick black edges and I don't know which side to cut them (trying sanding the toner off with a file). My preference when printing a scratchbuild of any predominantly white parts is firstly to draw it in Inkscape which is a vector image, and secondly to print the part without black edges but over a grey background so that it's clear where the exact boundaries of the part are. |

The only place I could put Nobi's 1/100 B-52 was hanging nose down flat on a wall in the garage.

A photo showing the completed fuselage construction.
The wing span is expected to be roughly the same length. |

It's update time again. The huge main spar and tail spar are now built.
The next step is the landing gear bays that require the addition of tabs to glue them to the fuselage, as per last photo attached. This part is large, about 9 inches long. So you can image how difficult it is to control it to land on the appropriate space properly and apply glue to it. What I suggest and do is that (after a million times of dry fitting) I first glue the upper part where alignment of the body graphic is the most important as it affects the look of the build ultimately. When it is completely dry, then i go along the sides and make sure that they fit and are glued properly. You may have to hold the sides a very long time after making sure that they are in place, and adjust if necessary (probably you'll have to) and wait for the glue to cure. While doing that, I suggest that you watch a video clip on Youtube for about 10-15 mins while holding the whole thing in front of the computer. But you'll have to check the glued up part from time to time. After that, deal with the closing edge that should be glued to the belly of the fuselage. Without the additional tabs, you'll be in a mess and a fit of rage that follows will mean ending the build in the dustbin, or even worst! Repeat the glue and hold procedure and Youtube video clip treatment for the other side of the gear bay. There you will have watched Youtube for about 30 mins and you'll find that time flies, no boredom at all. If you still screw up, omg, you have plenty of time in the evening or the next evening, to do it again. |

That looks like a great job of graphics alignment and a very careful and thought-out build. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

It is fascinating to read your narrative and to view the images. You are certainly providing good guidance for anyone audacious enough to follow in your footsteps and try this build.
