A pack of "Wulfs" S&Ps Fw-190 series

In the late 30s aircraft designer Kurt Tank designed a single seat plane that would become arguably germanys best fighter. The first prototypes were radial engined and reached speeds of 380 mph and after some teething issues were worked out became the fw-190 a.
Bruno from Scissors and Planes designed a beautiful Fw-190 series of aircraft.
first up is the Fw-190 A series. The A-0 had a smaller engine cowling and shorter wings. The initial armament was 6-8 8mm machine guns.

Nice work Ted. I know from my own recent build of one of Bruno's 190's he's really captured the 'brutish' feel of the type.
Hope to see more of yours.

Garry

next up

Thanks guys, good to be back.
Next up is the fw 190 a-1. This version was an up tuned engine with better cooling 4 mg and 2 20mm cannons.
I won't be building all the conceivable versions of the Fw-190 on this thread.
there are so many it would be a full time job. Just covering the major versions.

Fw 190 a7/r8

next up is The A7/R8 version. By now the Luftwaffe realized the FW190 was a very versatile aircraft. It was continually up engined and tuned. The A7 was maximized for ground attack. the wing cannons were maximized for ammo capacity and mid underwing had bomb carrying capability. The forward cockpit was up armored as was the canopy. There was a radio direction finder added underfuselage as well.
A tip was followed by our Gary (Rata) by means of using pencil lead for the ends of the cannons and mg. Gary the wheel wells were grafted on from repaints by either gerry or brent's repaints.
Another detail added to this version was the forward cooling fan and recessed forward engine detail. This was a real PITA and in subsequent versions I left the stuff out as you can very barely see it

Great set of FW's Ted.
One of the cooler looking weapon fits (to my eye) were the R1 gun pods under each wing. Not sure if Bruno has these in his series but they wouldn't be too difficult to scratch build.
