Fitters Models S.E.5a 1/33
Here are some work in progress photo's of my S.E.5a that I started when I started my U-Boat build, I needed something to work on so I would not get burnt out on the Submarine.
Anyway its neat little kit, and goes together well, and I have not had any major issues other then SELF INDUCED ONE'S. Hope you all enjoy...later Craig |

Excellent build Craig. You could leave it in its present state, and call it done!
What's the rigging material? Mike

Bomarc...The rigging was done with thin copper wire painted black with a sharpie marker, and or paint depending where and how I attached the rigging wire

I'm impressed!!
What I like best is how straight you've managed to keep it. Square-former planes are more challenging (IMO) than circular shaped fuselages. Good work - you've obviously used care in building the airplane. <S> FYI - I obtained Fitter's SPAD from ecardmodels - it's a nice kit too. You've inspired me to get the SE5!!

Great build. This was one of my first balsa wood flying airplanes that I built. Lessons learned then helps me to this day with building in paper.

I really have to move one of these closer to the top of my mile-high "to be built" stack. The S.E.5a is one of my boyhood favorites and I grabbed Fitter's version(s) as soon as they came out. You have done a wonderful job of it so far.

I'm very glad to see someone write this one up.I grabbed three versions (the S.E.5 is one of my favorites). For rigging I found some .005 and .007 straightened steel wire here;SmallParts.com: The Hardware Store for Researchers and Developers. It saves a lot of effort straightening and coloring copper wire.
