Thanks everyone for you kudos and support.
Been a long haul. Really closing in on the finish. Only the compass fairing to attach and the bullet nozel tip on the gun. Orazio, I hope I don't see another pice of rigging - string, plastic, thread or wire for a long time. Of couse, though, I want to build the Eindeker EIII which was one of the opponents of the Dh-2. So, I've finally made the machine gun and completed the propeller. |

Just catching up. Excellent build and the extra details you added are absolutely wonderful. You are a Jedi Master.
The designer is glad the design worked in this super large format (mine is 1/72 scale as seen on the FG website), and thanks you for your kind comments. And ya, there is more rigging than a birdcage. A good reference is Rosebud's website with historical photos of aircraft pre-1920.

(Raises hands) Thank you everyone...thank you (puts hands down). It all began 51 years ago on a hot July day...
Oh! That's another story. I't nice to have people weight in on what I'm building. After so many years with paper modeling my skills are just getting to a good stage. So much more to learn, though. But the point is, it's you folks and others on this group that have helped me get better. Reading and looking at other builds, thinking about comments or suggestions about how to do something, pointing out other sites with super builds or references of photographs and text. Next week I should have final photos of the plane. I will build the Eindecker but have others before it. Have always had a thing for the Eindecker and have all the versions from Model Kartowny. Allreasy have the chosen vrsion scalled up, not printed thoughJust started work on the Thai Paperwork Skoda Kauba P.14-01. Since it's an odd one, I scaled that to 1:16. It's a fairly simple model. |
