1/400 scale Wildcats and Avenger

Howdy all, trying to rehab my hands, yet again. Watching the subminiature aircraft race I decided to play too. These are recolors of the older JSC USS Card model. The parts are in a pile to be assembled, along with pics of the parts sheets and some finished samples. The darker glossier ones are the kits original, the duller gray wildcat is a repaint. I forgot how much "fun" paper modeling is, I wish I didn't once again cut off more than I can fold and paste. I used titebond wood glue, tweezers and printed the parts on regular typewriting paper. I tried using 65 lb card and it just delaminated on some of the tighter rolled parts...

Wow, 1/400. That is serious rehab! I imagine surgeons doing this scale of modelling to keep in practice!

definetly no challenge, I thought I'd poke a little fun at the 1/144 1/200 crowd, building these little gems. As the parent carrier was 1/400 I saw a little "in" for trying small scale. In other words don't try this on your own!

Try it - I can barely see it! Beautiful work; amazing craftsmanship and dexterity.

OK, the 1/144 and 1/200 CROWD? There's only a couple of us I think I can narrow down who your making fun of....But it is still mighty fine work.

No offense meant. In my little circle of friends outside of work and the range 2 is definetly a crowd! These things were designed and were to be built in the parent scale of 1/400. You guys are actually shrinking kits that were designed in a much larger scale so therefore they have a greater difficulty factor. someday I may have a go at the great model molecular shrinking device or GMMSD. Be warned that the great macrolens fault finding device GMLFFD still lurks among us to frustrate the seemingly near perfection we think we've created in our models.
