Talking Boeing B-52 Stratofortress "The Big Stick" in 1/200 scale

Boeing B-52 D Stratofostress "The buff" 56-0676 307 th strategic wing at U-Tapao , Thailand, was the first Buff to downed a MiGs 21 during an air-to-air combat.

On December 18, 1972, during the bombing campaign Linebacker II in Vietnam, North Vietnamese MiGs 21 Fishbed were ordered for an interception mission. The crew acknowledged their situation that they had to face with danger, SSgt. Samuel O. Turner, was informed that the threat was coming, soon, the MiGs were coming in fierce formation and tried its best to down the Buff. SSgt O. Tuner tried his best to point his .50 cal to the incoming death ahead. The 4 barrel .50 cal fired directly to the target and downed that unfortunated MiGs.

This model was made to memorize of the valor of those crews. Some come back home safely and live peacefully in today wired world while many lost their lives during the missions.

I will soon provide free download B-52 H version 2009 here @ Paper modelers.com.

Another nice BUFF, Chiawatkom.

I'll definitely be looking forward to the H model release.

I've mentioned this before, but it bears repeating 8v) My first encounter with a B-52 was with the H models at Kincheloe AFB, Michigan. I was on a C-130 from Elmendorf AFB, Alaska to Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. We stopped at Kincheloe to refuel and while that was going on, I was standing near the base operations building watching the flightline activity.

I noticed a B-52 taxiing by and couldn't help but think how much it looked like a snake moving through the grass. The longer I watched, the more I thought how good I had it in Alaska and remember thinking, "I hope I never get stationed here."

Well, six months later I standing in the Fuels Distribution Office at Kincheloe AFB, being welcomed to the unit by the commander.

I came to really like the B-52H and to some extent, even the KC-135 after six months of working the flightline there.

Today, "The Snake" is my favorite favorite aircraft...tied with the F-15 Eagle.

NICE! Any chance you might do some X-planes to hang from the bottom of a modified wing?

I'd really like to get this model. I grew up around the BUFFs at Wurtsmith AFB in Michigan, and I get to see one every day as I drive past Willow Run Airport.
Been doing a lot of Star Trek models lately, but the BUFF is a challenge I'd take on.
